CBI Arrests 12 NTA Officials — ₹2.3 Crore Cash and Answer Keys Recovered

<p>The Central Bureau of Investigation on July 12 conducted simultaneous dawn raids across Delhi, Jaipur, and Patna, arresting 12 current and former NTA officials in connection with the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak scandal.</p><p>Evidence recovered includes pre-printed answer keys for the 2026 examination, encrypted communication devices, and ₹2.3 crore in unaccounted cash. The arrested officials include two Joint Directors of NTA and a regional coordinator who served as the primary link between the paper-setting committee and the leak syndicate.</p><p>CJP welcomed the arrests but maintained their core demands. "Arresting foot soldiers is not enough. The system that enabled this must be dismantled from the top — starting with the Education Minister," the movement's statement read.</p>
